Malaysia Latest Bank BR Rate 2022

Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) decision to increase the overnight policy rate (OPR),  a 25-basis-point (bps) hike to the key policy rate to 2%, after keeping the rate at a record low of 1.75% since July 2020. It cited global inflation risks from the sharp rises in commodity prices, supply chain disruptions and strong demand as factors prompting its decision.

Maybank said its BR would be higher from 1.75 per cent per annum to 2.00 per cent per annum, while its BLR will be revised from 5.40 per cent per annum to 5.65 per cent per annum.
Similarly, the Islamic base rate and base financing rate (BFR) will be increased by 25 basis points from 1.75 per cent per annum to 2.00 per cent per annum and from 5.40 per cent per annum to 5.65 per cent per annum, respectively.

RHB Bank Bhd, RHB Islamic Bank Bhd and RHB Investment Bank Bhd will increase their BR from 2.50 per cent to 2.75 per cent per annum and revise the BLR and BFR from 5.45 per cent to 5.70 per cent per annum.
